Hello everyone!! Another
sun sets here is Lennox Head after an eventful day.
Lindsey and I volunteered for the early bird shift at the
physiotherapist office, and almost everyone else observed throughout the rest
of the day. (Those that didn’t observe today will get the chance to tomorrow). We were able to stop for some Australian
coffee and a smoothie along our way, and venture around to see the surrounding
neighborhood. We quickly realized that Aussies
are wide awake during these early hours – almost everyone owns a super friendly
furry dog, and they were out for their daily walk – just about everyone else
could be found shredding some waves.
While some students were observing, others decided to enjoy the warm sun
and hang out on the beach. The trek to the office was about a mile down the
road, so we all enjoyed the walk. Many
different species of plants could be seen in the yards of the beach houses
along the way.
Everyone found different restaurants for lunch today. Some visited Lime, some visited Club Lennox, and others visited the pantry at the cabin for a quick sandwich. Those who were not observing during the afternoon hours did their own thing. Some napped, others cleaned up their belongings, and others went to the beach again. But when it came to dinner time, everyone met up at Fishy Fishy. We all had a good time getting to know each other a little more during dinner, while also enjoying some good food. There were a few that did get the ‘Not So Fishy Burger’ so naturally they got some heat for that. Afterwards we all walked down to the local gelato place for some dessert. The poor gelato boy looked so overwhelmed by the group of Americans who wanted to try every flavor that was offered. Eventually we decided on our flavors and began to head to the beach. (Mind you, the sun had set 2.5 hours ago already.) But we just wanted to find a space we could all get together outside of the cabin. We sat around for a couple hours learning silly facts about each other before we realized how tired we were. At that point, we decided to head back to the cabin and call it a night. (We made it to 10:30 tonight as opposed to our 8:00 bedtime last night!!!!)
Here are some quick pics of the cabin we are staying in! Just beyond the trees is the beach. We also have a little friend who visits us in the mornings. We've decided to name him Pete.
Well thats's all I have for today! Thanks for checking in on us!
